ASSOCIATIONS and ORGANIZATIONS



BELIZE CITRUS GROWERS ASSOCIATION - A non governmental, non-profit organization charged with representing the interests of the Citrus Industry in Belize. The Association provides cost price services, administers preferential loan schemes and conducts research and extension programs for growers.

BELIZE NATURAL ENERGY TRUST - The BELIZE Natural Energy Charitable Trust supports the efforts and ideas of Belizeans with the drive and potential to make lives better for themselves, their children and community at large. The Trust is a public-private partnership that was established on February 25th, 2008 as part of an agreement between Belize Natural Energy Limited and the Government of Belize.

EMBASSY OF BELIZE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Embassy of Belize in Washington, D.C. has primary responsibility, along with Belize's diplomatic missions in New York and Los Angeles, for providing consular services to Belizeans and prospective travelers to Belize residing in North America. Consular services offered at the Embassy include the issuance of visas and passports, travel documents, and the authentication of documents.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE –The Environmental Research Institute (ERI), the newest department of the University of Belize (UB), was inaugurated in January 2010. The Institute was created primarily to address the large gap in local capacity for research and monitoring that exists within Belize. Belize has a wealth of natural resources, including the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, which supports the country's most important industries, including tourism and agriculture.

NATIONAL GARIFUNA COUNCIL OF BELIZE – A non-governmental organization representing the indigenous Garifuna people of Belize. Our mission is to preserve, strengthen and develop our culture as well as promote economic development of the Garifuna people.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE MERCY CENTER BELIZE - Located in the Sisters of Mercy Convent Building, Belize City is a non profit Spiritual Life Center offering hospitality in the spirit of Mercy within a peaceful and tranquil environment with opportunities for prayer, spiritual direction, counseling, retreats, workshops and sessions on self help, scripture and spirituality.

SANTIAGO CASTILLO LTD. – Santiago Castillo Ltd., a member of the Santiago Castillo Group of companies, is one of the largest food distributors in Belize representing a wide variety of international brands with a portfolio of over 6,000 products. Headquartered in Belize City, Santiago Castillo Ltd. has built its reputation by continuously providing quality products at competitive prices, with exceptional delivery service via distribution and retail centers throughout Belize for both the wholesale and retail markets.

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM PROGRAM - The Belize Sustainable Tourism Program (STP) is a response to the challenges that must be faced if Belize's tourism sector is to grow in a manner that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. The intention is to strengthen the sector's contribution to the national economy by consolidating the overnight tourism market.

THE BELIZE ZOO - The Belize Zoo and tropical Education Center was started in 1983 and is today settled on 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 125 animals all native to Belize.

TUMUL K'IN CENTER OF LEARNING - is a registered non-governmental Maya Organization that responds to the challenges of poverty and marginalization in rural Toledo by promoting a sustainable development with identity through intercultural education, training and research fusing modern and Maya values, knowledge and philosophy.
