FIELD SCHOOLS IN BELIZE
FOLLOWING THE PATH OF THE RAIN GODS - We are offering a watershed field course designed for students to experience a journey through tropical watersheds; a journey that follows the path of the rain gods from the headwater regions high in the Maya Mountains all the way through the natural system to the Belize Barrier Reef.
MONKEY BAY WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is an environmental education center that offers experiential learning programs and training opportunities while serving as a model of conservation land stewardship. Visitors are welcome to stay and use our facilities, including a natural history library with over 500 references. We offer accommodation, fresh-prepared meals and a range of learning and adventure activities throughout Belize.
PELICAN'S UNIVERSITY AT SOUTHWATER CAYE - Offering fully customized itineraries for groups including accommodation and transportation, marine and terrestrial instructors combined with trips to rainforest, mangrove and marine habitats throughout the country of Belize.
THE INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING - A new full service RV Park is open as part of the Institute for Technical Vocational Education. The site is located on the Hummingbird Highway, 9 miles west of Dangriga in the Stann Creek District of Belize.
THE TROPICAL EDUCATION CENTRE - The Tropical Education Centre is an 84 acre site set in unspoilt savannah land located adjacent to the Belize Zoo. Come and experience our fabulous birdwatching from the Bird Deck or take a hike on our unique savannah nature trail across a boardwalk meandering through the vegetation and up towering wildlife platforms in the canopy overwhelming the savanna.
TROPICAL FIELD STATIONS BELIZE - The field stations are fairly remote. Our mode of travel is mainly by boat, using 25-foot fiberglass dories with outboards. Well equipped and maintained, these boats are highly maneuverable on the narrow waterways and around coral reefs. A school bus is used for inland trips. Depending on your groups needs, a portion of your trip can be spent at Possum Point for terrestrial studies and a portion on Wee Wee Caye for marine studies. Or you can stay at either place for the entire time.
